Rosie’s New Life as a Blind Goat

Sweet and playful LaMancha goat Rosie lost vision in one eye when she was very young. (She’s only 3 now!) It never seemed to bother her at all and she was always a little spitfire. She would play and play until she ran out of playmates, and would make the humans play with her!

Recently, she lost vision in the other eye and the vets have told us that there is nothing they can do to help her. But there is lots that we can do!! So we ARE.

We have made Rosie her own small pasture so she won't get lost in the big one, always has access to shade and water and shelter...and we rescued THREE NEW FRIENDS for her!

We heard about a woman who was breeding goats to sell, but when none of them sold and she suffered a severe injury, she was unable to care for them. So we agreed to take in a LaMancha mama with two small babies in the hopes that at least one of them would bond with sweet Rosie! They are being fitted with small bells so that Rosie can always find her new friends, and they are already getting along beautifully! Rosie is already more relaxed than we have seen in months.

But there is more to do. We are getting her a small shelter, shade, and more accommodations to make sure Rosie is as safe as can be in her new daytime home, plus now we have THREE new goats to care for! It’s all worth it to make Rosie’s life great, but we really do need help to pay for it all. Can you help us make Rosie’s life awesome?
