Growing Healthy Communities

From the very beginning, Sweet Farm’s regenerative agriculture program has been rooted in the belief that growing food should nourish both people and the planet. Each year, we donate more than 3,000 pounds of fresh, healthy produce to our community—reaching those most in need through soup kitchens, community donations, and our on-site Pay-As-You-Can farm stand. At the same time, Sweet Farm has become a living classroom where over 2,000 visitors annually come to learn about regenerative agriculture, experience its impact firsthand, and carry those lessons back into their own lives and communities.
What began as a commitment to feeding our neighbors has flourished into a transformative movement. By partnering with local restaurants in our traditionally meat-centric community, we’re supplying fresh produce in exchange for the addition of plant-based options. This innovative approach has sparked a powerful ripple effect: a growing number of restaurants across the region now offer plant-based choices, creating healthier menus and meeting the rising demand for sustainable food options.

Inspiring & Building the Future

Sweet Farm is forging a bold new path with its one-of-a-kind 4-H program—the first in the nation to be located at an animal sanctuary. More than just an afterschool activity, this pioneering initiative is equipping the next generation with hands-on skills, empathy for the planet and its beings, and direct inspiration from the regenerative work happening daily at the farm. And this is only the beginning. We are building a model designed to be shared nationwide—creating curricula and resources that will empower sanctuaries across the country to launch their own programs and multiply this impact manyfold.
Sweet Farm is also cultivating future stewards of the land through immersive experiences for high school and university students to roll up their sleeves and get their hands in the soil, often for the first time. Many leave transformed, carrying forward both knowledge and a passion for protecting the planet wherever their lives take them.

Save the Pollinators, Save Our Food
Pollinators are not just vital to our food system—they are at the heart of restoring balance to the entire ecosystem. One-third of all food grown globally depends on pollinators, yet these species are in crisis. That’s why Sweet Farm’s innovative, veteran-led program in ethical and regenerative beekeeping is so impactful: it supports the survival of honeybees and native pollinators while also giving veterans meaningful opportunities to engage in community-driven, purpose-filled work. This unique model heals both the environment and the people who care for it.
But we don’t stop at the hive. Through our expansive pollinator habitat and cut flower program, Sweet Farm is creating a sanctuary for bumblebees, butterflies, hoverflies, moths, and countless other beneficial insects that together uphold our global food supply. These flower fields ripple out far beyond the farm—bringing beauty to local nursing homes, nourishment to fragile insect populations, and inspiration to over 2,000 visitors each year who come to learn firsthand what regenerative ecosystems look like in action.
