Rosie’s New Friends
We recently let everyone know that our young and playful LaMancha goat Rosie, lost her sight.
When it became clear that the big pasture was far too big for her to navigate safely and comfortably, we made Rosie her own small and square pasture. She can find her way so much more easily now, always has access to shade and water, and she is so much more calm and relaxed already. But best of all...we rescued THREE NEW FRIENDS for her!: Lucy, and her babies Fawn and Hershey.
So far the babies just adore Rosie, and we think that Lucy and Rosie are glad to have grown-up companionship as well (baby goats are A LOT). We are so happy to see Rosie blossoming into her old self again. Her new friends now wear little bells so that Rosie always knows where they are, and there is quite possibly nothing cuter than baby goats wearing bells.
But there is more to do.
We need to get them a small shelter so we don’t have to drop what we are doing and bring everyone in the barn every time it rains (we get a ton of unpredicted rain in Upstate NY…it’s raining as we speak!!), as well as some other accommodations to make sure Rosie is as comfortable and safe as can be in her new daytime home (everyone comes into the barn at night). Plus now we have THREE new goats to care for! It’s all worth it to make Rosie’s life great, but we really do need help to pay for it all. Can you help us make Rosie’s life awesome?
