Full-circle resilience
Sweet Farm’s move from California to New York was an act of survival and hope. This campaign is about protecting that hard-won refuge so the animals who made the journey can continue to thrive.
Climate change is the single most important issue of our time.
Sweet Farm was born in California back in 2015, but the increasingly regular wildfires and drought made it too dangerous to stay. We relocated our rescued animals to Upstate New York to give them a safer, more predictable home in one of the most climate-stable regions in the world. Now, wildfire smoke is reaching our region here too, and that means extra care, extra supplies, and extra costs to keep our animals (and our team!) healthy and comfortable.
Why this matters
Our sanctuary is home to 150+ rescued animals, but our daily work includes animal care, regenerative farming, technology incubation, and sustainability education. Our mission is BIG. And as a nonprofit, we have a small and very hardworking team to fulfill that big mission. During smoke events, we must keep vulnerable animals indoors longer, maintain clean-air spaces, and respond quickly to changing conditions. Your donation helps us do that without compromising daily care.
