Earth Day 2026: Our Power, Our Planet

Earth Day 2026 is coming up on April 22, and this year’s theme is “Our Power, Our Planet”; a powerful reminder that real change starts with each of us.

At Sweet Farm, we know sustainability isn’t truly about what’s happening in Washington—it’s about the daily choices we make in our homes, kitchens, and communities. When we act locally, we return the power to our own hands and show that small, consistent steps can add up to big impact for animals, people, and the planet.

Simple actions you can take this month to take back power:

  • Shift one meal a day to plants

Try a plant-rich breakfast, lunch, or dinner each day this month—oatmeal with fruit, a hearty veggie chili, or a grain bowl packed with seasonal produce. Click here for some inspiration!

  • Support local growers

Visit your local farm stand or farmers’ market, sign up for a CSA share if you can, or choose locally grown produce at the store to cut down on food miles and strengthen your community food system.

  • Cut back on waste at home

Pick one habit to change: bring your own bags, jars, or takeout containers; start a simple compost bin; or choose products with minimal or reusable packaging.

  • Create a small wildlife-friendly space

Plant a few pollinator-friendly native flowers, leave a corner of your yard or balcony “wild,” or set out shallow water for birds and insects. Even tiny habitats make a difference.

  • Use your voice close to home

Share what you’re doing with friends, family, and neighbors, ask your workplace, school, or faith community to make one sustainable change, or organize a small clean-up or planting day.

  • Donate to a charity that is fighting to save our one and only planet

By donating to Sweet Farm this Earth Day, you directly support hands-on climate solutions—like regenerative agriculture, farm animal rescue, planet-forward technology, and community education—that reduce emissions, restore soil, and empower people to take meaningful action in their own lives.

Environmental progress doesn’t depend on any single administration or election. It’s sustained by daily actions of communities, educators, workers, and families protecting where they live and work.

In other words, people like you.

Join Sweet Farm this Earth Day

This Earth Day, we invite you to choose one new action from the list above (or create your own!), then tell us about it—tag Sweet Farm on social media, or share your story at your next visit to the farm. Your choices matter, and together we can show that our power truly does shape our planet, one intentional step at a time.
