Welcome, Ben!

Ben immediately went to explore his new pasture upon his arrival yesterday!

You may have seen our recent announcement about the heartbreaking loss of our sweet and chatty Elliot, the pig we took in from a neglect case a year and a half ago. The day after Elliot passed we received a plea to take in a 4-year-old Yorkshire mix pig (same as Elliot!) named Ben, who had been saved by local rescue when he was a baby. The rescue cared for him for 4 years, but now that he is grown up, they saw the need for him to join a proper sounder of big pigs where he could learn and form lifelong friendships.

We agreed to give Ben that home, in honor of Elliot.

Ben will need sponsors to help us pay for his ongoing care, as he has many years of joy ahead of him!

As you can see, Ben is absolutely loving having new mud wallows to enjoy, and even building new ones!

He loves having room to roam…and we like to think he enjoys his new lake view!
